STRATO® POE Solar PV Encapsulants provide structural support, electrical insulation, protection and transparency for the photovoltaic module. STRATO® POE Solar PV Encapsulants help optimize performance and reduce lifetime costs in PV module systems.

 

Their high level of thermal stability, the result of elimination of residual tensions during manufacturing, avoids shrinkage of the material during the lamination process, thereby simplifying the process and providing additional savings. STRATO SOLAR selects raw materials exclusively from European suppliers and guarantees high light transmittance, reduced yellow index, low shrinkage and low haze reachable into the final film.

STRATO® POE Solar PV features

STRATO® POE Solar PV Encapsulants represents STRATO SOLAR’s product range of cross-linking polyolefin encapsulating films used in the photovoltaic industry to laminate solar panels.

 

The photovoltaic product range includes proprietary chemical formulations that guarantee high UV radiation and weathering resistance for the most severe environmental conditions. The products are provided as rolled films ready for use in thermal lamination processes and self-priming for adhesion to glass.

Excellent optical performance

Strong optical properties are essential to optimizing the power output of PV modules: STRATO® POE PV-based encapsulant film offers excellent optical transmission with rates comparable to those of EVA-based film.

 

In addition, the refractive index of films made with STRATO® POEs PV is very close to that of glass, reducing refractive losses of the glass-polymer interface and maximizing light transmission to the active cell material. Combined with high volume resistivity levels, this performance has a very positive effect on overall power generation and preservation.

Other key benefits

The chemical composition of STRATO® POEs PV gives them a very stable backbone, providing module manufacturers with ease of processing and the potential for considerably reduced conversion costs.

 

In addition, STRATO® POEs PV contain no liquids that can cause hydrolisis or lead to bubble formation, thus eliminating the formation of acetic acid that could damage lamination equipment and modules.

Virtually no PID

Solar cells under high voltage stress can degrade significantly within a short amount of time. The resistance of the encapsulant material to potential induced degradation (PID) can make a major difference during field usage, with higher levels of PID resistance resulting in sustained levels of module efficiency.

Enhanced power retention

The ability of modules to withstand extended exposure to damp heat can significantly extend service life.
Damp heat testing and long-term weathering tests show that modules using STRATO® POE PV encapsulant film can provide enhanced power retention following alternating cycles of damp heat and QUV exposure over extended periods.
Additionally, STRATO® POE PV-based encapsulant film exhibits excellent color stability and helps resist yellowing after extended damp heat testing.

STRATO® POE Solar PV

It is an ultra-fast cure and PID (potential induced degradation) resistant POE (polyolefin elastomer) photovoltaic encapsulating film, with a lower light transmission in the UV wavelength region to avoid yellowing effects of the backsheet due to weathering exposure.
It is used on the back side of standard PV modules.

STRATO® POE Solar PV HLT

It is an ultra-fast cure and PID (potential induced degradation) resistant POE (polyolefin elastomer) photovoltaic encapsulating film, with a higher light transmission in the UV wavelength region to increase PV module efficiency. It is used on the front side of standard PV modules.

STRATO® POE Solar PV White

It is a white, ultra-fast cure and PID (potential induced degradation) resistant POE (polyolefin elastomer) photovoltaic encapsulating film.
It is used on the back side of the standard PV modules to increase module efficiency.
